Shout Out to My Friends
© Larry Krone 2018
I’d like to send a shout out to my friends if you’ll let me
To let you know how I appreciate how you get me
I know that you’ll be with me to the end and won’t forget me
I’d like to send a shout out to my friends
I couldn’t have predicted when me met how I’d need you
Or how much I would love to entertain and to feed you
You are my beginning and my end, I repeat to you
I’d like to send a shout out to my friends
I didn’t know when I took that job or went out to that bar
That here today the ones I met would still be where you are
Running round together as my on the town cohort
Or being there to listen when I need your support
There are those of you who I admit have been a big surprise
And what a great surprise to find a new friend in disguise
Some of you have moved away, and some of you have died
But you’re the ones who’ve taught me that true friendship stays alive
I’d like to send a shout out to my friends, my heroes
You may not be blood relatives. I love you as dear, though
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for being here, so
I shout out I love you, my friends.
